Continuing on the theme from the Pure Love post, right about this time every year, there is a breezy, subdued, pop album with female singers. In past years it has been Allo Darlin and Camera Obscura, this year it's Veronica Falls.
This is British indie pop with a little more bottom to it. While other bands, in this genre, go for lighthearted melodies that border on twee, Veronica Falls adds an influence of the Smiths or Jesus and Mary Chain to their still airy melodies.
It is a nice combination which makes it more interesting than the usual fare.
